American dramatic soprano Anita Lyons is at home in the heroines of Wagner, Verdi and Strauss. Her roles include Elektra and Leonore in Fidelio — both role debuts at Lincoln Center with New York Opera Forum — as well as Norma, Aida, Sieglinde, Brünnhilde in Siegfried, Elsa in Lohengrin, Santuzza, Giorgetta and Amelia in Un ballo in maschera.

She created the title role in the world premiere of Anne Hutchinson at St. Paul’s Historic Church in Mount Vernon, New York, sang in Opera Pomme Rouge’s all-female production of Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, and made her Opera Theatre of Montclair debut as the Erste Dame in Die Zauberflöte.

On the concert platform she has sung Strauss’s Vier letzte Lieder with the Central Jersey Symphony Orchestra and the Summit Symphony Orchestra, appeared with Boheme Opera NJ in programs of Wagner, and was a soloist in Riverside Opera Company’s gala orchestra concert at Snug Harbor on Staten Island.

She has performed at Lincoln Center, Symphony Space, the Brevard Music Festival and Indianapolis Opera, with North Star Opera, the Twin Cities Chamber Orchestra and the Bach Society of Minnesota, and has been heard on Minnesota Public Radio and Peoria Public Radio.

Ms. Lyons holds a Master of Music from the Indiana University School of Music. She was an Artist-in-Residence with New York Lyric Opera Theatre and an Emerging Artist in Opera Manhattan Repertory Theatre’s Artist Development Program.
